Hard to find this one, but it is available in duty free in Europe. A few years ago a friend Chris and I did taste testing between Remy Martin Reserve Exclusive VSOP, the normal Remy Martin VSOP and the Remy Martin XO, plus some fancy cigar cognacs. The Remy Martin Reserve Exclusive VSOP was the clear winner on price and taste.
The bottle says riche & ambre on the label, which is the most distinctive and memorable element of the branding, as the names all blur a bit. It is by far my favourite (affordable) cognac.
September 2008 Archives
I'm back nearly two weeks from sunny Annecy, lovely place. Lake, mountains, well small ones, and it is a clean, pretty place. I really like visiting France, the food and the wine are a big draw, but the weather this time was incredible. Seven days of sunshine, which hurts to type now we are in the dismal days of autumn.
If you are looking for a child friendly French city to visit, I'd highly recommend Annecy, they even have canals. We went there by eurostar and tgv, other than a dash across Paris from the Gard du Nord to the Gare du Lyon it is a delightful way to travel, especially with a two year old. I missed the bigger mountains of Chamonix or the Ercins, but watching my son's delight at the world more than made up for it. Photos on Flickr soon.
